This saddens me greatly.
As a person of conscience, I have joined with others worldwide and have begun my own personal boycott of French products, goods and services in hopes of effecting some change in this French governmental policy. I will buy nothing made in France. I will drink no champagne. I will not visit France.
Millions of people are concerned that leakage from these tests may spread into the Pacific Ocean itself and that is the major issue as I see it.
The French themselves recently admitted that there has been some leakage of radioactivity into the test lagoons. Of course, they downplay the amounts and potential hazards....Interesting, these were the same folks that said nothing would ever leak.
Save our ocean, we live here.
Please do something to stop the atoll testing!
Altho many complain that their hands are tied, French citizens do have the power to demand change in their own country...all it takes is guts...courage...and conviction.
I hope that French citizens can effectively and quickly force a change in France's nuclear testing policies and I look forward to an announcement that tests will no longer be conducted in the South Pacific by the French government.
