Hello Rabbet,

At this time, (while writting this message), I listen to your broadcast. I listen to your great music IRH Dace Party. The songs that you put and the way you put them are great!

I have a trick to listen to your broadcasts: I log in the IRH page, and then I load the .RA file and after that I minimize the RealAudio player. That allows me to listen to your broadcast while browsing the internet, writting messages, transfering files or run other windows or dos programs while listening to your broadcast!

I'm located in the City of Montreal in Canada. That's 6000 miles away from your station!!! :-) That's what I call the "Power of Telecommunications".

Island of Hawai: Paradise... Wonderful weather... Sun... Hot Hot Hot (as the song),... The Pacific ocean... temperature: 87oF

City of Montreal: Cold weather, lots of clouds, Cold Cold Cold -30oF...

By the way, your signal is Very strong, No errors at all, Fast and reliable transmission, and the sound is comparable to a Strong AM station. frequency response: 60Hz - 3kHz, Noise floor: -50dB Excellent! My soundBlaster 16 is connected to my stereo system and I enjoy your broadcast that came from Hawai, that crossed the Pacific Ocean, that crossed the US, that crossed Canada to arrive at Montreal. (Near Atlantic Ocean.) Keep the good work and don't forget that I have my ears on your station!!!

Here in Montreal Canada, I have a radio show every Sundays from 6pm to 12 midnight in Greek for the Greek Community. And I'll broadcast a International show (in Greek) in the internet. I'll be able to reach Greeks far away were no Greek station exists. I began to set it up. I'll use TrueSpeech audio. I can't use RealAudio because my computer is a 486sx2/66 without a Math Co-processor. The RealAudio encoder requires a math co-processor. And the other option that I'll go with TrueSpeech is because it's free! 1 hour of audio consumes 3.6 Mb od HD space.

My home page is set up already: http://www.infobahnos.com/~dimitri/home.htm

It's not ready yet because I'm waiting for My Internet Provider to configure the server to recognise .wav dsp encoded files.

PS. On your latest broadcast you said: "It's Tuesday January 2nd 1995..." I'll take this opportunity to wish you a Happy new Year. Don't forget next time: we are in 1996! ! ! Bye and keep up the good work, say Hi to everybody from Me (Jimmy) from Montreal Canada. and I have my ears on you!

Subj: RA 2.0 feedback Date: Sat, Jan 6, 1996 9:55 AM EST From: murray@cyberenet.net X-From: murray@cyberenet.net (David Murray) To: rabbett@eworld.com

Hey Rabbett,

Works fine! Sounds Great! (But my computer's breaking a sweat.)

I've been listening for a while on RA 1.0, and your show brought a nice relaxed island feel to my room here in New Jersey. The audio quality was poor, but I got the general feel of the music. It was sorta like listening to the entertainment from the hotel next door.

Well now, its like walking right in to the show, paying the cover charge and sitting down. No, the sound's not perfect, but much better.

The hard part is that my computer (Pentium 90MHz, 8M memory) seems busier, and whenever I ask it to do anything while the audio is playing, it interupts the audio. Before it would only interrupt it sometimes.

Anyway, I hope you dualcast in V 1.0 and V 2.0 for a while, since not all of us have the equipment to listen to 2.0.

Keep it going!

Dave Murray

Rabbett;

Files sound great, but was botherd by continious breaks in the file, packet delivery was indicating as high as 45% loss factor. I am running Win95, 16meg ram, 486DX2-66 Tristar Computer and a 28.8 modem, ATT Dataport. While the file was playing, stereo quality was obvious.

Happy New Year,

Jack

--Sounds like a connection problem, as you'll read we have even made Switzerland in good quality!

I am listening to your site using RA2.0 from Springfield Il. Keep up the great work. The sound quality is fair with some break up but clear enough to understand and enjoy the news and talk features. The music quality is pretty good. It is incredible that I can get your programs here in Illinois and feel like I am almost visiting Hawaii. It snowed 6 inches here yesterday and the high was 20 degrees, tomrrow the wake up temp is predicted at 7. It is 130Am here so the web traffic low I hope the quality is as good during the day. What does Da Kine mean anyway? Keep up the great work, I really have only started to explore your site.

Regards,

Bob Kojima

Hi Rabbett! I just discovered this h4 internet stuff tonight. Oh, my name is Tiffany Lum (I'm on my roommates computer right now) and I'm a freshman at the university of washington. I graduated this past year from Kamehameha Schools and I lived in Hawaii all my life. I miss Hawaii so much but these neat Hawaii home pages have helped me get over some of my homesickness. I just taped all the KCCN jingles from my room. Technology is amazing. Anyway if you've got the time, email me at tanuki@u.washington.edu You're doing a good job so far. Keep it up. Aloha! Tiffany

Dear Rabbett,

Ran your Teating (12/29/95) clip with 0.1% lost packets.

It sounded great - like AM, not like SW (RA 1.0).

Reagards, Dick Hodgman

Wow! I thought the old real audio was pretty neat, but this is almost as good as my actual radio! Best of all, I can listen to IRH and work in telnet windows without seeming to affect the sound quality.

Comes through quite well on my Powermac. Keep up the good work!

Love your site and makes me miss Hawaii! I have the same problems with RealAudio 2.0 that you mention. The first download remains closed, and I have to manually hit the play button. The second download does not displace the first one, and hitting play still plays the first selection. They also do not appear on the "Open Recent" menu.

----------------------------- End Original Text -----------------------------

The problem has been fixed...it's a bug in the player but we have added a signal to the ram files to make it work..

Aloha,
Rabbett
