One afternoon in May I went visiting Keahiakahoe Canoe Club's haunts in Kahalu`u. I was there before an appointment and saw the kids hauling the canoes out of the water. Those canoes are heavy but that great big gang of kids got them all out of the water and up on their tires just fine. Teamwork! - It was very impressive. "The name Keahiakahoe is literally translated as "The Fire of the Paddle." Keahiakahoe canoe club's name means paddling fast or fiercely." ( - from their web site)
