I was just sitting outside in my lounge chair...

barefoot, in shorts and a tee-shirt and watched the windward sky grow dark. The first star of the night popped out and winked at me from in between some little puffs of low lying pinkish-orange clouds.

It was a grand day. After some morning cloudiness, and a shower or two...we then enjoyed total, absolute, sunshine. Blue skies as far as the eye could see. High temp around 82.

I got a lot done, which is actually kind of rare for a Sunday. I have been doing so much work with this site, I forgot all about mowing lawns and cleaning out the garage and such for the last six or seven weeks.

Today I caught up. I had wacked my hibiscus hedge in the front yard last Sunday. The cuttings pile hung out all week along side of the driveway, dried a bit and shed some leaves. This morning I borrowed a friend's pickup, made one run to the dump with what I thought I would take two runs and then, since a good citizen can make two dump trips a day here, I attacked the garage.

First, I cut down a rug that had hung there for almost two years, rolled up and strapped to the rafters above the VW collecting dust and dirt. I never did really want the damn thing but, someone insisted. Then the broken beach chairs and the old rattan chairs and the VW's warped head from engine number one and on and on and on....oh and the old kithcen door, that had sat out back for several months now.

You'll probably think me a terrible procrastinator but, let's just say I've been mighty busy....and the pace of life here sometimes dictates that we should take our time with things. Some call it Polynesian paralysis. I call it a good cultural rationale...( ok...it's procrastination!)

After the dump runs, it was clean-up and a little lawn mowage, etc. etc.. It's not really important what I did...what's important is why I like it here so much.

I never have to wear a jacket. I never see local commercials for snowtires. I don't have a furnace in my house. I have a 35 foot avocado tree in my back yard along with a mountain apple tree and banana stands.... and I get to sit out back in my bare feet and watch the sky grow dark, almost any night of the week.

Hey, it's just another day in Paradise. You'll have to come visit sometime!
