Through the efforts of Hawai'i Community Foundation, the Waimanalo Health Center has received a grant from the Robert E. Black Fund in the amount of $40,000. The funds will be used to develop a plan to address the health needs of Waimanalo's teenagers. A preventive health care approach will be used. The plan will not only recognize the physical health needs of teenagers, but also the cultural, spiritual, and emotional health needs as well. The program will be designed to take advantage of the rich cultural resources of the community. Community participation will be a key part of this planning process. The project will begin in January 1996.
