No One Came

On December 12, 1995 a meeting was held at the Waimanalo Community school library to discuss "Waimanalo Wastewater Issues for the Future". The cities plans to deal with sewer needs in Waimanalo for the next 20 years were discussed. Eight people representing the City and County the State of Hawaii and the consulting engineers provided a very comprehensive briefing on the primary issues. In contrast, only 5 representatives of the community were present. They included Nancy Glover, Chairperson of the Citizen Advisory Group, Representative Eve Anderson, and three members of the community. Maps and diagrams showing areas that might be added to the sewer system were presented. One of the topics that was given particular attention was sewer hookup to the beach lots and other areas that are not currently on sewer lines. If you have a position on the sewer or wastewater treatment in Waimanalo it is essential that you become involved. To participate or express your opinion call Nancy Glover at 259-8946. A meeting will be held in the near future to get community opinion.
