The Japanese Peace Bell Ceremony at the United Nations Headquarters in New York is an annual event which takes place on the Spring Equinox every year.

The Peace Bell is rung 3 times on the March Equinox to mark the first day of spring. The Peace Bell Ceremony affirms our dedication to clean land, air, and water. The theme for this year is the International year of the Ocean.

This panorama was shot March 20, 1998 at 2:58 p.m. using a Nikon n90s and 24-120mm lens mounted on Kaidan Kiwi+ atop a Gitzo tripod. 16 frames were scanned on a Minolta Dimage film scanner and stitched in Apple QTVRAS. Some image cleanup and correction was performed in Adobe Photo Shop and the panorama pict image was re-wrapped in QTVRAS
