The panorama shows the beach of Dangast. Dangast is situated in NW-Germany at a large bay called "Jadebusen".
Though you see a very peaceful scene, this bay results from some disastrous storm tides in 1164, 1334, 1362 and 1511. Many small villages and a monastery were destroyed by the northsea.
Today Dangast is a well-known seaside resort.
