Flushing Meadow-Corona Park in Flushing, Queens NYC - Site of the 1939 and 1964 World's Fairs that celebrated in its day, the global visions of the future.

I was a teenager back then when I went with my parents. Selling the "Future" was a big thing. Having color TV's and pocket transistor radios was cool. Now MY teenager kids go to theme parks and have no time for the Future. It was a quiet day when I visited the Fair grounds again, 11AM means most everyone are in their offices or classrooms.
The opening position of this QTVR movie faces South. You'll be gazing at US Steel Corp's famous Unisphere. It was built for the 1964 -1965 NY's World's Fair and opened to the public on April 22,1964. The Unisphere is 140' high with a diameter of 120'. It is made of stainless steel and weighs 700,000 pounds.
The Unisphere is "Dedicated to Man's aspirations towards Peace through mutual understanding and symbolizing his achievements in an expanding universe."
At the North position is a soaring bronze statue of man and woman entwined in flight with 3 birds. Entitled "Freedom of the Human Spirit" it is the work of artist Marshall Fredericks. It was installed at the 1964 World's Fair. Further off is the USTA National Tennis Center's Arthur Ash Tennis Stadium where the US Open Tennis matched are held.

This is a QT3-VR Fast Start Multiple Data Rate movie with an embeded 149K Version1 movie that references a larger 691K Version2 movie containing URL hotspot links to Object-VR movies on my web site. Window size is: 504 x 232
The 35K sound file is a looping 12 sec file mostly of the wind and me shuffling around in the dry grass and leaves. Qualcomm Pure Voice half-rate mono (19:1)16bit 22KHz compression sampled the sound file down from 2.3Mb.
