Hangin' with the Gorillas at the Franklin Park Zoo
Boston, MA USA
Much consideration was given to a choice of location for my pano shoot in Boston. Given my aversion to ice, snow and cold, that blesses Boston in winter time, I opted for comfortable confines of the Franklin Park Zoo African Rain Forest exhibit. I had previously experienced the exhibit and was impressed by its detail and "experience" of being in the African Rain Forest. Technically shooting a pano at this location was tough because of the darkness (I used Fuji Super 800 film), and movement of the Gorillas. If you look carefully you will see the dark figure of "Gigi" a large female gorilla. She was watching us and a nearby maintenance crew with curiosity. And we enjoyed watching her. [Technical Details: camera=Canon A2, with Fuji Super G 800 film, on Peace River 360 mount, atop a rickety tripod.]
