My Wrinkle2 theme is based on the balance between humans and our water source.
The pano was taken standing atop the half acre surface of mound A, in the distance is Plant Bowen just left of the small tree in the center. Mound A is the tallest of the three mounds at 6 stories high. Pan to the right and the Red Top Mtns appear over the Etowah River valley, we can see the drop off to the river valley. Follow the river up to Mound B and on to Mound C (a burial mound) and the original ramp to Mound A. The Etowah Mounds were built in the 1200's, and represent the Mississippi valley mound builders civilization. No written records for the Mound builders exist, but it's believed that the Etowah valley was home to ancestors of the Creek Indians. It's easy to see why this geographical location inspired inhabitation.
